Our Full Review

Nike doesn't just sell athletic wear — it sells aspiration, and it does so better than anyone in the business. Walk into any gym, track, or pickup basketball game and count the swooshes. There's a reason Nike commands roughly 27% of the global athletic footwear market.

The product lineup is staggering in both breadth and depth. Whether you're a serious marathon runner needing the Vaporfly's carbon-fiber plate technology, a casual gym-goer who wants comfortable training shoes, or someone who just wants clean-looking sneakers for everyday wear, Nike has something engineered specifically for your use case. The Dri-FIT fabric line genuinely performs — it pulls sweat away from skin faster than competing moisture-wicking systems I've tested.

Nike's digital experience deserves special mention. The Nike app is best-in-class among sportswear brands. SNKRS handles limited releases (with all the frustration and excitement that entails), Nike Training Club offers solid free workouts, and the main app provides member-exclusive access to products and content. The Nike By You customization platform is genuinely fun to use, though delivery takes 4-6 weeks.

The biggest knock on Nike is price. A pair of Air Max 90s will run you $130, and performance running shoes easily cross $200. That said, the quality justifies the cost in most cases — my Pegasus 40s are 400+ miles deep and still performing.

Nike's sustainability story is evolving. The Move to Zero initiative shows real progress with recycled materials in the Space Hippie line and Nike Grind program. It's not perfect, but it's more substantive than most competitors' efforts.
